Japanese stainless steel Samurai Scissors are both useful and a work of artistic tradition and craftsmanship.

Exquisitely designed for both the left and right hand by Samurai sword artisans from the Gifu prefecture in Japan.

Using traditional methods used in sword making these scissors are meant to be used, not just admired for their beauty and craftsmanship. The mat black has a fluorine coating. Both come in a simple and perfectly designed box and make a gift like no other.

Making your own Wedding Invitations is an exciting adventure and we are here to help you enjoy the process and be thrilled with the results.

Your invitation will set the tone for your wedding while expressing your unique personality as a couple. We offer a complimentary consultation to help you answer important questions and get a good sense of the "feel" of the invitation you want to create.

While we do not print or design your invitation we do have many examples of invitations that will inspire you. Make some time to visit us. Look through our sample books and exceptional selection of envelopes, papers, ribbons, wax seals and more.

You don't need to worry about making a final decision the first time you come into Paper-Ya. Remember, this is a process to be enjoyed, keep an open mind and surprise yourself. You may not have done this before, but we have! See you soon.

Creativity in paper is abundant and thriving and we are proud to be part of it!

Cecelia Louie is one of those talented people. She loves paper and has a fine appreciation of quality both in materials and craftsmanship. She purchased her exquisite Japanese paper from us (thanks Cecelia!) and has shared the results with us. For more information on her process check out Cecelias blog. Have a look at the slides to see inside the box.

This is her project based on a traditional Japanese box called Karakuri Bako. Her "mystery box" is featured in a new book by Ann Martin called All Things Paper, which is receiving great reviews. And just a note for all you paper lovers, we not only carry an amazing selection of papers but we also carry most of the Lineco Book Binding products that Cecelia used in her wonderful box. Nice work Cecelia!

For Him, For Her or For Us.

A token of your love starts with a great card.

And then a little something special for that sweet someone special.

Happy Valentines Day to all you romantics out there !

You have heard the saying Presentation is Everything, that might be an exaggeration but it sure helps...big time.

The adventure of getting you and your work out into the marketplace can be challenging, we all need a little guidance sometimes

Putting together a professional, well organized and attractive portfolio will effectively present you and your work to new and existing clients.

Our portfolios will help make the job of self-promotion more fun and inspiring. Present yourself with flair and confidence, go to it with gusto and hey, good luck!

We now tend to stay in touch with others more than ever with social media.

But a certain intimacy is lost when we are all reading the same message! This time of year can be reflective and thoughtful and a time to express our fondness and gratitude towards those special people in our lives. Expressing it with pen and paper is even sweeter. Write on!

We want to thank you, our customers, because you get us!

We are independent, a little wacky, a little different and always in the world looking for surprising and interesting items to share with you. Here is to more of that in 2014.

And one more thing:

Happiness
not in another place, but this place
not in another hour, but this hour.

Walt Whitman said that, and we pass that onto you with a big smile.
Happy New Year from all of us at Paper-Ya!
